Floyd of Rosedale Ornament
In 1935 the governors of Iowa and Minnesota agreed that the winner of the Hawkeye and Golden Gopher gridiron battle would receive a prize hog from the downtrodden governor’s home state. Following a hard-fought 13-6 victory, the Gophers have presented an Iowa hog from Rosedale Farms. One year later it was decided that trading a live pig back and forth was just not a good idea. So Floyd, our 98 lb. friend, was sculpted and has been awarded to the winning school yearly. Among the nation’s most extraordinary rivalry trophies, Floyd of Rosedale exemplifies Big Ten tradition.
Our Floyd mini checks in about 3 inches tall, and goes about 3 inches from snout to tail. He’s the perfect mini addition to a Gopher or Hawkeye collection and will serve as an excellent desk buddy or ornament on the Christmas tree. Mini Floyd weighs 6 ounces.
