Floyd of Rosedale
In 1935 the governors of Iowa and Minnesota agreed that the winner of the Hawkeye and Golden Gopher gridiron battle would receive a prize hog from the downtrodden governor’s home state. Following a hard-fought 13-6 victory, the Gophers were presented an Iowa hog from Rosedale Farms. One year later it was decided that trading a live pig back and forth was just not a good idea. So Floyd, our 98 lb. friend, was sculpted and has been awarded to the winning school each year since. Among the nation’s most extraordinary rivalry trophies, Floyd of Rosedale exemplifieses Big Ten tradition.
Our Floyd checks in at around 6 lbs., stands 12 inches tall, and is 13 inches from tail to snout.
